Weather agents to the rescue
The summer holidays are approaching fast and one of the questions in
everyone's mind is: what will the weather like be tomorrow, in three
days
time, or next week? It's not easy to plan activities if the weather is
determined to disturb everything! Camping in the rain or tanning in
the
storm is not ideal! Fortunately, AgentLand has the solution!
Agents can be the summer companions that help you solve these everyday
questions. There’s no need to bring out the crystal ball or draw the
cards.
No, these agents use data supplied by meteorological centres in order
to put
the latest weather news directly on your desktop. Based on this
scientific
information, it is possible to configure these agents to alert you to
climatic changes in the selected town(s). The best ones even provide a
five-day forecast. Very practical! The forecasts are often accompanied
by
statistics, satellite images or even webcam pictures.
The only negative point: these agents can’t deal with grains of sand
or salt
water (like your rest of your computer). It is important to check them
before going to the beach. But you will certainly agree that this is a
minor
disadvantage compared to all the benefits these agents bring… ;-)

> Watznew: build your personal information portal on the Internet
http://www.agentland.com/pages/learn/articles/loupe/loupe_watznew.html
What is the best way to keep up with the latest news and changes on the Internet? Specialized news sites like CNN can give you part of the picture on the day's hot topics. Sites like Google News and Yahoo! News offer a constant flow of information from multiple sources - but you can not choose what subjects are presented, nor what sources are used. A monitoring agent like Watznew gives extra flexibility – you can get it to check any newsfeed, Web site or POP3 e-mail account that you wish, and bring you details of the latest additions to these sources. Watznew aims to be a personal information portal on the Internet.
