Finding information on the Internet is within your reach

Searching for information on the Internet can be a most amazing and a most frustrating occupation. You'll typically come across many things whose existence you had never expected - and sometimes would have preferred to keep it that way. Successful searching for information depends on using good methods and good tools.

Before starting to search, fix a clear picture in your mind of what you are looking for, and what tool you think is most likely to help you find it. If you want a reference site, stop off directly at Yahoo! or another directory of sites selected by those trusty human beings. If you are looking for something precise, Google has built its reputation by serving very rapid and accurate results. But if you are looking for something more complex, harder to dig out from the mass of information available online, then you might want to try a search agent.

Professional information seekers have long understood the power that sophisticated search agents can offer. These agents typically send your query to a selection of the most relevant search engines, and extend the scope of your search by venturing into the Invisible Web. A quick initial search on a "traditional" search engine will help you identify useful keywords. Then, with the help of the agent, build an advanced search query, and refine it progressively as you home in on the information you want.

Not all metamotors offer the same added value when searching for information. But some, like Copernic, offer true professional-quality features at prices that are attractive to the general public. Try it out and see the difference it makes to your searching!
