What gave you the idea of developing a bot?
|
I have been interested in Artificial Intelligence ever since I purchased
the 'Creatures' computer game. I then found lots of interesting Chatterbots
on the internet, and so I thought it would be a good idea if I could make
one myself.

Is creating bots a passion for you? A hobby?
|
I have a general interest in computers and robotics. I find A.I. (Artificial
Intelligence) a very interesting aspect of computers. So, yes, it is a passion.

When did you start creating bots? Why?
|
I started creating bots two or three years ago. This was due to the inspiration
I got from the internet and various other bots.

What language is your bot programmed in?
|
Visual Basic

How much time do you spend working on your bot per week/month/year?
|
On average, I spend about a week every month on my bot.
|

In your opinion, what are the best qualities of your bot?
|
The best features of my bot is probably its ability to learn.

What is your ultimate goal for your bot?
|
I hope that eventually I will be able to make my bot so that it has no
'hard-wired' responses, and it generates all of its responses from thing
have have been taught to it in conversation.

How do you see chatterbots being used in the future?
|
I think that some time in the distant future we may by finding chattterbots
are being used as a type of Operating System for computers. So, a user may
be able to simply say to the computer:
"Send ... a letter, from me, saying that I will be late for the meeting
on the 12th of March."
The computer would then interpret this and load the correct programmes,
and enter all the relevant data, without the user having to touch the keyboard.

Can chatterbots replace humans?
|
Chatterbots will never be able to replace humans, simply because they
never have any real understanding for what they are saying. They also have
no real emotions.

What is your favorite bot memory?
|
My favourite memory is when my bot said something intelligent that I
did not expect from my response.
|

What was your worst bot moment?
|
My worst bot moment was when the learning went completely crazy, and
all my bot would say was: 'do you do you do you do you do you ' again and
again....
