What gave you the idea of developing a bot?
|
I saw an old episode of nova at least 5 years ago that talked about AI.
It's interesting to see that the cyc
project is still going strong.

Is creating bots a passion for you? A hobby?

Bots are more of a hobby for me than a passion, although I do wish I had
more time to work with them.

When did you start creating bots? Why?
|
I probably started about 3-4 years ago, reason is in the above question.

|
Visual Basic.

How much time do you spend working on your bot per week/month/year?
|
I probably spend about an hour or two per week working on my bot.

In your opinion, what are the best qualities of your bot?
|
This new version of my bot tries to incorporate a large amount of
information across as many subject
areas as possible, rather than trying to simply generate ambiguous
conversational sentences.

What is your ultimate goal for your bot?
|
Try different methods for replying to arbitrary conversation lines or
questions.

How do you see chatterbots being used in the future?
|
The way a bot's knowledge is represented and the method of processing the
user's input have crucial roles
in human interaction with computers.

Can chatterbots replace humans?
|
Not yet I don't believe they can.

What is your favorite bot memory?
|
I think that 'classic quote' about liking mint-chocolate-chip pizza was
pretty good.

What was your worst bot moment?
|
Well, my bot tends to be a bit rough on the user and chew them out, which
isn't exactly the best thing for a
user interface.
